Interactive Biology created a presentation called What is Stroke Volume and How to Calculate it. in under 7 minutes. Stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped by one ventricle during each heart beat.
Few definitions you need to know:
- Systole: Contraction of the heart
- Diastole: Relaxation of the heart
- End diastolic volume: Amount of blood in the ventricle right before ventricular contraction
- End systolic volume: Amount of blood left in the ventricle right after ventricular contraction
